About MY WORK

Colors and Shapes and their juxtapositions have always fascinated me and given me great Joy. WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I SPENT A LOT OF TIME PAINTING IN WATERCOLORS OR OILS WHATEVER I SAW AROUND ME. However, ONCE I STARTED TO TRAVEL, HAD A FAMILY AND A PROFESSION THE CAMERA BECAME A MUCH MORE PRACTICAL WAY TO FILL MY NEED TO HOLD ON TO that special moment so that i could revisit it in the future. Although now i actually would have the leisure to paint again  I HAVE FOUND The camera TO BE aN almost IDEAL tool to faithfully capture whatever grabs my attention. EXCEPT FOR THE DIGITAL PAINTINGS SECTION ALL IMAGES ON THIS WEBSITE are either film or digital photographs, with the majority being digital ones.

there are, However, times when images almost beg to be highlighted, isolated and reassembled into different relationships to one another by perhaps changing their size, their color, brightness, dominance or even their contours. Although The resulting DIGITAL COMPOSITIONs MAY HAVE TAKEN DAYS (or weeks) TO PUT TOGETHER THEY ARE especially satisfying to me because that Process is closest related to painting and actually requires a similar type of creativity.
